What this job involves.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented System Administrator to manage and maintain the organisation's IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security and performance of servers, networks, cloud environments and end-user systems.
The role also includes coordinating with external vendors, managing IT assets, and providing technical support to ensure smooth business operations.
What you will be doing.
- Install, configure, monitor and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers.
- Administer Active Directory, user accounts, Group Policies, DNS and DHCP.
- Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure on platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, VPN, switches, routers and firewalls.
- Perform system monitoring, health checks, performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Implement security patches, system updates, antivirus solutions and endpoint protection.
- Manage virtualisation environments such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Perform regular backups and support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Provide technical support for infrastructure, hardware, software and network-related issues.
- Maintain IT documentation, asset inventory and infrastructure records.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors for hardware procurement, software licensing, AMC renewals, warranty claims and technical support.
- Monitor vendor performance, ensure SLA compliance and support infrastructure upgrade projects.
The profile that fits this mandate.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring and maintaining Windows and/or Linux servers.
- Strong Active Directory skills, including user accounts, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
- Working experience with at least one major cloud platform — Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Solid networking knowledge across LAN/WAN, VPN, switches, routers and firewalls.
- Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with patching, endpoint protection and antivirus administration.
- Experience running backups and supporting disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Microsoft 365 administration experience across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Comfortable coordinating with external vendors on procurement, licensing, AMC renewals and SLA compliance.
- Methodical about documentation, asset inventory and infrastructure records.
