What this job involves.
A litigation role for a senior associate who can carry matters from pleadings through to appearance. You will draft the full range of litigation documents, build the research and strategy behind each case, and appear before courts, tribunals and quasi-judicial authorities.
You will work alongside Partners on civil, commercial, constitutional, arbitration and regulatory litigation, staying close to clients on case developments and keeping filings and statutory timelines on track.
What you will be doing.
- Represent clients before various courts, tribunals and quasi-judicial authorities.
- Draft pleadings, written statements, affidavits, applications, legal notices, replies and other litigation-related documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare case briefs, legal opinions and litigation strategies.
- Assist Partners in handling civil, commercial, constitutional, arbitration and regulatory litigation matters.
- Appear before courts and coordinate with advocates, clients and court officials.
- Maintain case records, hearing updates and litigation trackers.
- Liaise with clients regarding case developments and documentation requirements.
- Ensure timely filing of pleadings and compliance with statutory timelines.
- Support dispute resolution and pre-litigation advisory matters, as required.
The profile that fits this mandate.
- 5+ years post-qualification experience in litigation.
- Enrolled with a State Bar Council and entitled to appear before courts and tribunals in India.
- Strong drafting skills across pleadings, written statements, affidavits, applications and legal notices.
- Sound legal research ability, with experience preparing case briefs, opinions and litigation strategy.
- Exposure to civil, commercial, constitutional, arbitration or regulatory litigation.
- Court-room experience appearing before courts, tribunals or quasi-judicial authorities.
- Disciplined about case records, hearing trackers, filings and statutory timelines.
- Confident dealing directly with clients on case developments and documentation.
